Completing a Failed Change
Log back in as Barney. He has received an email to notify him that the status of the change workflow has been set to “Progress Halted”.
Go to the Records console and open the “Workflows Managed by Me” view and review the change workflow.
Since it is clear that this change will not get approved, Barney decides to complete it.
Do this by setting the status of the change workflow to “Completed”, selecting the most appropriate option in the Completion reason field. Do not forget to specify in the Note field why you are completing the change workflow even though it has not been implemented.
Questions:
What happened to the tasks that were not yet completed?
1). Prematurely completing the workflow caused its open tasks to be set to “Canceled”.
2). The text that was entered in the Note field of the change workflow was also copied to each task that had not yet reached its final status.
What happened to the request that is related to the change workflow?
The premature completion of the change workflow also caused the status of any related requests and problems (in this case only request #703970) to be updated from “Workflow Pending” to “Assigned”. That is why request #703970 is now listed in Barney’s Inbox. This should ensure that he does not forget to inform the requester that the change will not get implemented.

Go to the Inbox and complete request #703970 to ensure that its requester (Luis Thomas) is informed about the rejection of the change he requested.
