Creating a New Project Task Template

At the end of his note in request #70486, Howard asks Ellen to prepare a new project template. This project template needs to be made up of the following 3 task templates:

1. Perform initial project assessment
2. Prepare steering committee meeting
3. Approval from steering committee for project implementation

The last 2 project task templates already exist. The first project task template, however, still needs to be created.

Add buttonYou can register this project task template by going to the Records console (the 3rd toolbar button), selecting the option ‘Project Task Templates’ and pressing the Add (+) button in the toolbar.

Give the new project task template the subject ‘Perform initial project assessment’. In the Instructions field, enter the following:

Collect an estimate for the project’s:
1. Risk level
2. Internal cost
3. External cost
4. Value
Enter these values in the Assessment section of the project. Also prepare a detailed project plan by adding the necessary phases, tasks and milestones to the project.

Set the category of this template to ‘Activity’. In the ‘Assignment’ section, specify that the project manager is the default assignee. Set the planned effort to 6 hours and the planned duration to 80 hours.

Save the project task template so that it can be used in the next exercise to prepare a new project template.
